BU looks for return to championship ways in 2010-11
By Bud L. Ellis
The Boston Terriers will once again open the season in the prestigious Ice Breaker Tournament in St. Louis, a highlight of the Terriers’ 2010-11 schedule and the beginning of what BU hopes will be a return path to the NCAA championship.
The Terriers will face NCAA runner-up Wisconsin on Oct. 8 in the season opener, and will play again two days later against either Holy Cross or Notre Dame.
The tournament starts a season that features a trip to Notre Dame’s Shillelagh Tournament on New Year’s Day against Minnesota State.
Boston takes on arch rival Boston College four times: a home-and-home Dec. 3-4, a home game Jan. 21 and a first-round meeting in the Beanpot Feb. 7.
The Terriers lost to Maine in the Hockey East semifinals last season, one season after winning the national championship.
